Why these prices are lower than you were quoted
Specialist SEO in Colombo is commonly quoted at LKR 100,000 to 250,000 a month, and international agencies charge several times that again. Our top tier is LKR 60,000. That gap is deliberate, so here is exactly where it comes from — because a price that looks too good without an explanation is a price nobody trusts.
We want Sri Lankan businesses to be able to afford this. Most of the companies who would benefit most from search — the clinic, the exporter, the family manufacturer, the online store run by two people — are priced out of the agencies that could actually help them, and end up buying a LKR 10,000 package that does nothing. Setting the entry point at LKR 20,000 is a decision about who we want as clients, not a discount waiting to be withdrawn.
It is possible because of what Maxinium is not. There is no office to pay for, no sales team taking commission, no account managers between you and the work, and no agency margin stacked on top of subcontracted labour. Alston does the work. That structure removes most of what you are normally charged for.
It is also honest about scale. A small roster at a fair price is a better business than a large roster at a rate that requires juniors doing the work. If we take on more clients than the hours support, this stops being true — so the roster stays small instead of the price going up.
What decides which tier you need
Not the size of your company. Four things, and only one of them is about you:
- Competition. Ranking a plumber in Matara and ranking a finance company in Colombo are different orders of difficulty. The competitors you name in the first call decide the tier more than anything else.
- Content volume. If you can write, or already have writers, a lower tier goes further — we brief and edit rather than produce. Content is the largest line item in most SEO budgets.
- Site condition. A modern site on decent hosting needs weeks of technical work. A ten-year-old custom build on shared hosting can need months before anything else is worth starting.
- How many markets. One city is Basic. All of Sri Lanka is Growth. Selling into the UK, US, EU or Australia as well is Premium, because that is three keyword sets, three link markets and an hreflang architecture.
What a LKR 10,000 package actually buys
Below roughly LKR 15,000 a month the arithmetic stops working. At that price a provider can afford two or three hours of a competent person’s month, and SEO does not produce results in three hours a month.
What gets delivered instead is an automated tool report, a batch of directory submissions and some spun blog posts. In the best case it does nothing. In a meaningful number of cases the link building is actively harmful, and cleaning up a toxic backlink profile costs more than the original engagement did.
That is the floor our Basic tier sits above, not the ceiling we are competing under. The point is that you should be able to see, itemised, what a month of work consists of — which is what the three tiers do.
Contracts, notice and what you own
No lock-in. One month’s notice, any month, without a penalty clause. Long contracts exist to protect agencies from clients leaving after seeing the work, and if the work is good they are unnecessary.
You own everything. Your Search Console, GA4, Google Business Profile and any tool account we set up are created in your name and stay with you afterwards. The audit, keyword research and content briefs are yours to keep. An agency that holds your logins is holding you hostage, not delivering a service.
Invoicing is monthly in advance in Sri Lankan rupees. Clients billing from overseas can be invoiced in USD at the prevailing rate. Your rate is held for the first twelve months of any engagement.
