SEO services in Sri Lanka

SEO Services in Sri Lanka

Nine services, sold separately or as one programme. Which of them you actually need depends on why you are not ranking today — which is what the free audit is for, and why we will not quote before running it.

01

SEO Audit & Technical SEO

A full technical audit of your site — crawling, indexing, speed, mobile and structure — then the fixes, shipped in the order that moves rankings fastest.

  • Crawl, index and render diagnostics
  • Core Web Vitals and mobile usability
  • Schema markup and site architecture
02

Keyword Research & On-Page SEO

We map what Sri Lankan buyers actually type — in English, Sinhala and Tamil — then rebuild your pages around those queries instead of around your org chart.

  • Search intent and SERP mapping
  • Competitor gap analysis
  • Titles, headings and internal linking
03

Local SEO & Google Business Profile

Local SEO in Sri Lanka for businesses that need to show up in the map pack when someone in Colombo searches on their phone.

  • Google Business Profile optimisation
  • Local citations and NAP consistency
  • Review generation and response
04

Content & Authority Building

Editorial links, local PR and content that earns citations, because in a market this size authority is what separates page one from page two.

  • Content strategy and briefs
  • Digital PR and editorial links
  • Directory and citation coverage
05

Ecommerce SEO

Ecommerce SEO for Sri Lankan online stores: category pages that rank, product pages that convert, and a technical layer that does not fight the platform.

  • Category and facet architecture
  • Product schema and rich results
  • Duplicate, thin and out-of-stock handling
06

AI Search Visibility (GEO & AEO)

Getting recommended by ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot — the shortlist your customer now sees before they see any website.

  • Entity and knowledge-graph alignment
  • Answer-shaped content and schema
  • Citation share tracking across AI surfaces
07

YouTube SEO

Ranking video in YouTube and in Google’s video results. Built on 617 published videos and 643K+ views, not on a course someone watched.

  • Title, description and tag strategy
  • Thumbnail and retention testing
  • Channel structure and playlists
08

International & Export SEO

For Sri Lankan companies selling abroad: apparel exporters, BPOs, software firms and tourism operators competing for buyers in the UK, US, EU and Australia.

  • Multi-market keyword and intent mapping
  • Hreflang and international architecture
  • Overseas link acquisition
09

Reporting & Search Console

A monthly readout you can actually act on: which queries moved, which pages earned the clicks, and what changes next month.

  • Search Console and GA4 setup
  • Rank tracking against named competitors
  • Plain-English monthly readout

How to choose an SEO service in Sri Lanka

Almost every agency in the country sells the same list. The list is not the differentiator — the diagnosis is. A dental clinic in Nugegoda that is invisible in Google Maps and an apparel exporter that ranks nowhere in the UK have nothing in common except the words on the proposal.

So the useful filter is not “which services do you offer”. It is: can you tell me why I am not ranking, before I pay you? An agency that cannot answer that from a 30-minute look at your Search Console is guessing, and you will pay for the guess for six months.

  • Ask what they would do first, and why that and not something else
  • Ask to see a Search Console export, not a rank-tracker screenshot
  • Ask who does the work — the person on the call, or someone you will never meet
  • Ask what would make them tell you SEO is the wrong spend right now

SEO audit and technical SEO

The audit comes first because everything else is wasted if Google cannot crawl, render and index the pages you are about to invest in. We crawl the whole site, pull your Search Console and analytics history, and produce a prioritised list — not a 90-page PDF export from a tool with every warning left switched on.

On most Sri Lankan sites the same handful of problems account for the majority of lost rankings: a slow shared host, a theme that ships 3MB of unused JavaScript, pages that exist in four URL variants, and no internal linking to anything below the main navigation. None of that is exotic. All of it is fixable in weeks rather than months.

  • Full crawl: broken links, redirect chains, orphan pages, duplicate content
  • Indexing diagnosis against Search Console coverage data
  • Core Web Vitals, hosting and image delivery
  • Mobile usability, which is where most Sri Lankan traffic actually arrives
  • Schema markup and site architecture
  • A fix list ordered by impact, with effort estimates

Keyword research and on-page SEO

Keyword research for Sri Lanka is not the same exercise as keyword research for the US, and tools handle it badly. Volumes are small enough that a global tool will report “0 searches” for terms that produce steady enquiries. Buyers mix languages inside a single query. And the SERP for a term like “web design company” in Colombo looks nothing like the same term in London.

So we work from your own Search Console data first — the queries you already appear for and lose — then extend outward. That is exactly how this site was rebuilt: the export showed 36,002 impressions on Sri Lanka SEO queries and 21 clicks, and the page structure followed the clusters rather than a tool’s suggestions.

  • Search intent classification for every target term
  • SERP analysis against the competitors actually ranking
  • Query mining from your own Search Console history
  • English, Sinhala and Tamil query mapping where relevant
  • Titles, meta descriptions, headings and internal linking
  • One page per intent — not one page per keyword variant

Content and authority building

In a market this size authority is often what separates position 3 from position 11, because the on-page work is within reach of anyone competent. Links from real Sri Lankan publications, industry bodies and local directories are harder to acquire than a package of 500 blog comments — which is precisely why they still count.

We do not buy links. It is not a moral position, it is that link networks selling into this market are small enough that Google has already mapped them, and a manual action costs more to recover from than the rankings were ever worth.

  • Content strategy and briefs, written for buyers not word counts
  • Digital PR and expert commentary in local publications
  • Industry body, chamber and association listings
  • Directory and citation coverage with consistent NAP
  • Internal link architecture, which is the cheapest authority you own

International and export SEO

A large share of Sri Lanka’s search opportunity is not in Sri Lanka. Apparel exporters, BPOs, software firms, tea and spice exporters and tourism operators are competing for buyers in the UK, US, EU and Australia — against agencies charging their clients ten times what you would pay here.

That work is genuinely different: the competition is harder, the intent is researched further in advance, and hreflang and site architecture start to matter. It is also where our own portfolio is most directly relevant, since most of it competes in global English-language search rather than local.

  • Multi-market keyword and intent mapping
  • Hreflang, subfolder and subdomain architecture
  • Link acquisition in the target country, not locally
  • Currency, shipping and trust signals for overseas buyers

Reporting and Search Console

You should be able to verify everything we tell you without asking us. That means Search Console and GA4 configured properly and in your own account, rank tracking against named competitors rather than a vanity keyword list, and a monthly readout in plain English.

The report answers four questions: which queries moved, which pages earned the clicks, how many enquiries came in, and what happens next month. If a month goes badly it says so — a report that is good news every single month is not a report.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best SEO services in Sri Lanka for a small business?

For most small businesses, in order: a technical audit to clear whatever is blocking indexing, Google Business Profile optimisation if you serve customers locally, and on-page work on the handful of pages that already rank on page two. Content volume and link building come later. Spending on 40 blog posts before your service pages are fixed is the most common and most expensive mistake we undo.

Do I need all of these services?

No, and you should be suspicious of anyone who says you do. Most engagements use three or four. Which three or four is the entire question, and it is answered by the audit rather than by a package name.

Can I buy just an audit without a retainer?

Yes, and it is free. The audit is yours to keep — hand it to your own developer, another agency, or nobody at all. Details on the packages page.

Do you provide SEO services outside Colombo?

Yes. The work is remote, so location does not affect anything except local map-pack strategy. We have worked with businesses in Kandy, Galle, Negombo and Jaffna.
